ECM has been an integral part of the Citizens Memorial EMR since the beginning. It allows for everything from scanning invoices from its five long-term care facilities to capturing ambulance reports wirelessly even as patients are being transported. CIO Denni McColm looks to the day when the EMR builds itself as a by-product of giving care and nurses and physicians don't have to document.
With the beginning of its June 1 fiscal year, Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar, MO., expects to have completed the initial 90-day demonstration period for "meaningful use."
