But Anderson Hospital, a 139-bed community hospital with a primary service area population of 100,000 located in Maryville, Ill., proves to be an exception. The hospital began its initiative with an enterprise-wide investment in the MEDITECH health information system (HIS). A solid foundation in place, Anderson soon looked to extend the HIS capabilities with an affordable document imaging solution that would integrate with an existing MEDITECH system while maintaining the individual integrity of the application.
