ibml Announces Enhancements To Its ImageTrac Scanning Platform

November 16, 2010

Building on its position as the leading provider of high-speed document scanners, ibml recently announced that it has enhanced its flagship ImageTrac scanner line to provide more ergonomic functionality, more configuration flexibility and improved document handling. Most visibly notable is an optional feature that raises the scanner's pockets for improved operator ergonomics, more capacity and better performance.

Currently used by hundreds of organizations around the globe and across most all vertical industries, ibml's ImageTrac high-speed, high-capacity document scanners are proven to lower operating costs, accelerate turnaround and eliminate downstream exceptions in the most demanding document imaging, document management and content management environments. By enhancing its ImageTrac scanners, ibml is creating a solid foundation for future success and growth in the ECM space.

"Today's announcement demonstrates ibml's continued commitment to invest in its products - even in tough economic times - and deliver best-in-class scanners and software that will meet the needs of our customers today and in the future," said ibml President and CEO Derrick Murphy. "The enhanced ImageTrac scanners offer users improvements in quality, functionality and usability, as well as ergonomic enhancements, which all come together to give our users a base for operational excellence within their capture operations."

The ImageTrac scanners include the ImageTrac 5300 Class and ImageTrac 5400 Class scanners. ibml also offers the ImageTrac-Lite for lower-volume and less complex scanning applications.

The expandable ImageTrac 5300 Class scanners are designed for batch processing applications requiring basic in-line intelligence. The ImageTrac 5300 Class scanner is ideal for users who want more speed and flexibility than ibml's ImageTrac-Lite solution provides. The 5300 Class scanners feature the following: one or two out-sort pockets; throughput speeds of 429 or 257 pages per minute; duplex camera imaging at 200 or 300 DPI resolution; mixed document scanning; simultaneous bi-tonal, grayscale and color capture; multi-feed detection and mechanical document de-skew.

Optional features for the ImageTrac 5300 Class scanners include thick document processing capability; envelope detection; ultrasonic doubles detection; hardware barcode reader; pre- and post-image ink jet printer; hardware MICR reader and up to 21 sort pockets. The 5300 Class scanners can be upgraded to include ibml's DocNetics recognition software, which provides the flexibility to index documents by reading barcodes, OCR reads, document types and logos from in-line images.

Building on the ImageTrac's reputation as the most versatile high-speed scanner, the ImageTrac 5400 Class scanners are built from the ground up for users who require sophisticated transaction processing and in-line tools for business rules processing and document sorting. ibml has enhanced the ImageTrac 5400 Class scanners to offer a unique raised pocket option that delivers improved ergonomics for scanner operators as well as additional document capacity and faster performance.

The ImageTrac 5400 Class scanners provide unmatched in-line intelligence for rules-based processing, autobatching, pocket waterfalling, numerous audit trail options and embedded processes. This makes ibml's ImageTrac 5400 Class scanners well-suited for banking, healthcare, insurance, service bureaus, shared services environments and other applications where business rules and processing requirementsshould be applied at point of scan and not dealt with as exceptions downstream.

Standard features of the 5400 Class scanners include throughput speeds of 429 or 257 pages per minute; duplex camera imaging at 200 or 300 DPI resolution; mixed document scanning; simultaneous bi-tonal, grayscale and color capture; multi-feed detection; mechanical document de-skew; complex decision and sort capabilities and touch-screen user control.

Optional features for the 5400 Class scanners include up to 21 sort pockets, thick document processing capability; envelope detection; ultrasonic doubles detection; hardware barcode reader; dual ultrasonic doubles detection; pre- and post-image ink jet printer; hardware MICR reader and ibml's DocNetics recognition software.
