Healthcare Remittance & Payment Management Under Reform

Source: Emdeon

In this podcast, Tom Turi, senior VP of financial services at Emdeon and co-chair of the CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) CORE (Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange), shares best practices for moving to EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), ERA (Electronic Remittance Advice), and other electronic remittance and payment methods under healthcare reform.

When asked for his recommendations on steps a provider can take to adopt a 100% electronic remittance and payment model, Turi said, "First, for the largest payers, I would recommend that the providers enroll directly with electronic payment offerings. And, they should probably limit the amount of enrollments to something that's manageable – maybe 6, 8, or 10 partners."
