The conversation focuses on how IHRs differ from traditional EMR and EHR technologies as well as the costs and benefits of IHR systems. In response to the question of how IHRs can help a hospital meet meaningful use criteria, Sharma says "The IHR can provide those physicians that have not deployed EMRs/EHRs - because of the cost, timing, and any other logistics issues - with a system that can be deployed easily (because of its small SaaS footprint). These physicians will then be able to immediately begin using data exchange components that can help them meet the meaningful use criteria."
