Podcast: EMRs As Educational Curriculum

Source: CliniComp, Intl.

In this podcast, Barb Mays, registered nurse and systems developer at The Ohio State University College Of Nursing, provides insight on how their students benefit from the school's use of EMRs in standard course work. When asked what success stories she could reference as a result of leveraging EMRs in the learning environment, Mays responded, "We have been able to configure the EMR system and adapt actual parts of the system to reflect standardized language. We have also been able to develop notes that are similar to the ones that we use in our area and in our different environments where the students are placed for their clinicals. It helps organize their thoughts when we teach the nursing process and assessment."
